FEATURED GOLF COURSE
Shortland Golf Club demonstrates what is possible when innovative golf course architecture and advanced synthetic turf come together.
Set on 33 acres near Portland, Oregon, the property features a 19-hole par-3 short course designed by Jackson Kahn Design in collaboration with Celebrity Greens. The course includes synthetic turf greens, teeing areas, fringe, and distinctive white turf bunkers throughout the property.
Celebrity Greens installed approximately 85,000 square feet of artificial turf across the par-3 course, including 19 greens, multiple cuts of fringe, 36 tee boxes, and 35 white synthetic turf bunkers.
The result is a distinctive golf experience with consistent playing conditions and reduced traditional turf maintenance. From the greens and teeing areas to the bunkers and fringe, each element works together to create a cohesive course built for real golf.
ANOTHER WAY TO PLAY
The 19-hole layout features short par-3 holes measuring approximately 50 to 105 yards. That creates a golf experience that can challenge experienced players while remaining approachable for newer golfers.
In addition, synthetic turf provides consistent playing surfaces throughout the course. Advanced drainage and reduced dependence on natural turf conditions also help extend playability throughout the year.
ANOTHER WAY TO PLAY
Shortland also includes The Nest, a separate 19-hole putting and chipping course designed to create an entirely different golf experience.
Celebrity Greens installed approximately 35,000 square feet of synthetic turf for The Nest, creating a dedicated short-game environment where players can putt or chip their way through the course.
Together, the par-3 course and The Nest demonstrate how synthetic turf can support multiple golf experiences within a single destination.
